Who am I ?
Hello, my name is Etienne Hoedemaker, and I am a 23-year-old Franco-Dutch Interior Architect with a deep passion for the creation of soulfull and nostalgic spaces.
My love for interior architecture began at a very young age, and after four incredible years of studying in the UK, I am eager to bring my vision to life in the real world. More than anything, I am excited to collaborate with a team of like-minded creatives who share my enthusiasm for thoughtful, detailed and emotionally rich design.
I've been fortunate to gain hands-on experience through various internships, including a transformative year at Benoy. While invaluable, it reinforced my desire to work in a smaller studio.
I deliberately stepped outside my comfort zone early in my career to learn from a larger firm. Now, I’m eager to apply that knowledge in a setting aligned with my long-term aspirations. My freelance projects have also been incredibly rewarding, allowing me to shape my design process and collaborate closely with clients. I thrive on blending my style with theirs to craft unique, user-focused experiences—listening and creating for them is the most important thin to me.
Growing up between the beaches of Nice and the Alpine plateaus, running through our small medieval villages, I developed a deep connection to nature. I love exploring new landscapes and engaging in outdoor sports, which help me refocus and find fresh inspiration. Having grown in those villages, I always try to evoke their sense of belongingness and comfortability into my designs.
What am I looking for as a Designer ?
I am looking for a studio that pours heart and soul into each project, one that values deep connections with its clients, obsesses over every detail, and creates spaces that are rooted in history yet infused with personal narratives. I want to help craft environments that not only reflect an owner’s carefully curated reality but also transport visitors into their ideal world every time they step through the door, spaces that hold memories, tell stories, and feel like home in the most profound way. All in All
I am seeking a role as a Junior Interior Architect or designer, helping with designing the atmospheres, creating 3D visuals and to be part of every step of a project (listening to clients, creating the concepts and finalizing the design) I am also very keen to design bespoke furniture, objects and fabrics of any kind !
One of the ways I believe this can be achieved is by designing spaces that evoke nostalgia, as they are, in my opinion, easier to remember and naturally foster the creation of new memories.
Ultimately, memories, landscapes, cultures, and arts are the four key elements that inspire me the most alongside the people themselves. As someone with a deep appreciation for a wide range of interests, I channel my diverse passions into crafting intricate and meaningful spaces designed to stand the test of time.

Sports give me loads of inspiration, time to rest and give me new perspective on things, I love them ! therefore I have done more then 15 years of Tennis and Skiing
Climbing, Hiking, Surfing, Horse Riding, wind surf, Biking and SwimmingStudied Violin and Guitar at the Conservatory
and I am teaching myself piano at the moment. What I like doing most in life is traveling to new destination. Discovering new cultures, ways of life and ways of making and designing things. The Cultures and Landscapes around the world, alongside my memories of them are what inspire me the most in design.
As I said before, I love discovering new cultures, and for me it is really important to learn some of their language in order to fully understand it. Therefore I have studied and mastered multiple languages at different levels !
Having grown up in France and around many great cooks, I have inherited this passion for taste and confection. And for the art of the Table, with knifes, plates, glasses, pottery etc..
